2007 Award Winners

The winners of the APM Project Management Award winners were revealed on 30th October 2007 at the awards dinner in London.

tim carterSir Monty Finniston Award - The most prestigious of the APM Project Management Awards, awarded for lifetime achievement, is won by Tim Carter of Davis Langdon.



Programme of the Year - Sponsored by Program Framework, is won by the MoD’s tri-services Single Living Accommodation programme for armed forces by White Young Green.

 

Project of the Year  - Sponsored by Siemens, for providing a new and innovative support solution for the RAF’s Tornado fleet Project of the Year is won by BAE Systems.


martin crossProject Manager of the Year - Sponsored by Corporate Project Solutions, is awarded to Martin Cross of Turner and Townsend, for the development of Anglesey airport and the Intra-Wales Air Service from Cardiff to Anglesey.

Young Project Manager of the Year – Sponsored by PMProfessional Learning, is won by Jimmy Zammar of Davis Langdon for the refurbishment of the British Council’s premises in Khartoum.

 

Project Management Company of the Year – Sponsored by
ESI International, new for 2007, is won by Arup Project Management.



mwhOverseas Project of the Year – Sponsored by The Projects Group Ltd, this award goes to MWH for a Capacity Building Programme for the Iraq Ministry of Municipalities and Public Works.

 

Community Project of the Year – Sponsored by Project magazine, is won by the restoration of the grade 1 listed Birkenhead Park, the first publicly funded park in the country, by Turner and Townsend for Wirral Metropolitan Borough Council.


Herbert Walton Award - Sponsored by BAE Systems . The winner, Eddie Fisher of The Open University has developed a competence and behaviour model for skills in working with people that addresses the gap between company expectations and the reality of project delivery.

Brian Willis Award - Sponsored by BAE Systems – presented to the student with the highest mark of all candidates in the past year's APMP examination; Jacqueline Sayers from Roche Ltd.

 

Geoffrey Trimble Award - Sponsored by BAE Systems for the best Master’s level dissertation, the award goes to the dissertation ‘Using Extranets to collaborate’ from Simon Burke of the College of Estate Management.
