APM Academic Accreditation assesses programmes or modules to help students and professionals choose the best education in support of their project management careers. Academic Accreditation identifies courses and modules which are aligned to the APM Body of Knowledge, 5th edition. Working with other accreditation streams we can offer clear, visible and joined-up career progression opportunities.
Benefits of Academic Accreditation:
- A certificate, valid for three years.
- An APM Accreditation logo to use on all relevant promotional material.
- A listing and link on the APM website.
- A case study based on your application.
- A copy of the assessor’s report to use for further development of your programme.
How to get accredited
Stage 1 – Initial discussion
Once you register your interest in accreditation a business development manager will discuss your needs and your readiness to apply.
Stage 2 – Completing your application
You should answer the questions in the application form as fully as possible and provide any relevant course materials.
Stage 3 – The assessment
Your application will be sent to an assessor who will assess its alignment to the APM Body of Knowledge, 5th edition and your support for the APM 5 Dimensions of Professionalism. A site visit may be arranged to clarify any outstanding issues.
Stage 4 – Assessment decision
Once your assessor has reviewed your application they will confirm your accreditation or ask for further information.
If your application is unsuccessful it will be reviewed by our lead assessor. If they agree with the decision you will be provided with the assessors’ report plus advice on areas requiring development. You may re-submit at any time. This will be treated as a new submission.
Stage 5 – Annual renewal
On the anniversary of your accreditation you will be sent a renewal note and invoice and be asked to confirm that the standards recognised through your initial assessment have been maintained. On the third anniversary of your assessment you will be invited to go through a full re-assessment.
