Chartered Project Professional

The Chartered Project Professional (ChPP) will become a mark that recognises all professionals working in project management including project and programme managers and specialists such as planners, risk managers and project controllers.

The name positions project professionals alongside professionals from industries such as IT, Quality Management and Engineering. It will also allow APM, in the future, to licence the register to other bodies, allowing applicants to register as Chartered Project Professionals and remain a member of their own professional institute.

Entry standards and criteria
Chartered Project Professionals will demonstrate the capabilities of a responsible leader, have the ability to manage a complex project and use adequate project management tools, processes and techniques.

Applicants will be expected to demonstrate:

• high level of professional competence in line with the APM Competence Framework,
• current and relevant CPD,
• that they are active within project management at appropriate level,
• the ability to demonstrate achievements and understanding of current issues.

This will be achieved by:

• completing a competence assessment
• providing evidence of current and relevant CPD
• submitting a CV and references including a personal statement
