Description:
Earned Value Management is a project control process, based on a structured approach to planning, cost collection and performance measurement. It is also one of a number of elements in a cohesive body of knowledge – project management.
The first edition of this guideline, published in 2002, was well received and found support in the United States and further afield as a standard and a work of reference for practitioners. This revision has corrected any errors in the original and aimed to improve its clarity without making any radical changes. It remains reciprocal with ANSI/EIA-748-B  Earned Value Management Systems standard.
The Guide will be formally reviewed again in 2011. Please address any feedback to the chairman of the APM Earned Value Management SIG (Specific Interest Group) at http://www.apm.org.uk/sigcontacts.asp
