Honorary Fellows

What is Honorary Fellowship?
Honorary Fellowship of APM recognises individuals who have contributed significantly to the development of the project and programme profession through one, many or all of the following methods:

  • Developed a useful new component of project management technique (e.g. governance, risk management).
  • Built up a distinctive achievement in project management education (e.g. an acknowledged leading university course in project and programme management).
  • Successfully managed a particularly large, complex and / or difficult project (e.g. Channel Tunnel Rail Link / HS1).
  • Initiated, conducted and completed a substantial body of useful published research in project management.
  • Been responsible for introducing project management into a new area of application and making it work.
  • Executed important role(s) in the management of APM and / or IPMA or equivalent body, whether as officer or staff.

Nominations
Nominations are welcome throughout the year and will be processed by the Nominations Committee for recommendation to the board at its July meeting.

Nominations, in writing, should be addressed to the Secretary at APM HQ and must clearly identify both the proposer and a seconder.  The nomination must explicitly define the nominee’s contribution to the development of the project and programme management profession and include a full curriculum vitae, together with other “proving” documentation to support the written statement of contribution – e.g. conference papers, awards etc.

It is not essential for nominees to be members of the association.  The only restriction is that the Nominations Committee will not consider nominations for current members of the board.
