Joseph Alba

Joseph AlbaJoseph Alba is a Chartered Engineer and a Fellow of APM.  He is leader of Programme and Project Management Professionalism within the Ministry of Defence, Centre of Excellence, with over 20 years of programme and project experience.  He is responsible for the development and delivery of MoD project management professional standards for military and civilian personnel, across all disciplines, and stimulating other government departments and industry through his external engagement.

Joseph has both an MSc in systems engineering and Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) degree in mechanical and production engineering.  He has had experience of leading national and international projects and programmes which have included; explosives, hybrid electrical and electronic systems, command, control and information systems, software intensive programmes, guided and unguided weapon systems, civil works, training and education, human resource solutions and various leading edge technical studies.

Joseph has participated in NATO studies, foreign policy and in the international arena of procurement.  During his career he was seconded to the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) as a diplomat, served as a military officer and engaged widely with the programme and project management community in order to further the profession.
