Peter Parkes

Peter ParkesPeter has been chairman of the APM London branch since 2006 and is a founding committee member of the APM specific interest groups for both governance and assurance.

He originally graduated as a chartered chemist and went on to complete a PhD in life sciences in Manchester before lecturing at Liverpool. Ten years into a career in the nuclear industry he completed an executive MBA with a final dissertation on best practice for PM, leading to a transition into major projects.

Peter has held programme director roles in both public and private sectors, public private partnerships and the ‘Big 4’ consultancies. He is currently supporting major technology enabled business transformation programmes in central government.

Additionally Peter is a fellow of APM, has attained the CPM qualification and is a branch committee member of the Institute of Directors.
