The Association for Project Management (APM) has been chosen as an official Learning Legacy dissemination partner by the Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA). APM will officially share the lessons learned from the construction of the London 2012 Olympic Games around the theme of programme organisation and project management through a series of events in 2012.

When London won the right to host the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games in July 2005 the Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA) faced the challenge and opportunity of creating an Olympic Park from scratch.
Before construction could begin the ODA had to be created and staffed, and then appoint a Delivery Partner to plan for the delivery and procurement of the venues and infrastructure.
The second of APM's learning legacy events will focus on establishing the programme governance, the appointment of CLM as the Delivery Partner and the procurement challenge.
