A hands-on day explaining what Value Management (VM) is and how it works through a number of interactive case studies. Delegates will be taken through the principles of VM, the way in which a typical VM study is carried out and finish by applying it to a case study. This presentation will suit project professionals of novice and intermediate level.

Achieving the best value for money from your projects and programmes should be the aim of all organisations. In today’s world of funding cuts and rising inflation, it has surely never been more important. Value Management (VM) and Value Engineering (VE) as related techniques offer much insight into what is important in improving the value of projects, and yet appear to be still shrouded in mystery and uncertainty.

Despite the Management of Value (MoV) being published by the (then) OGC in 2010, the take up of VM as a set of principles and techniques still appears to be patchy, even amongst government and local authority departments. This event will examine the definitions and processes used in VM and VE through the use of interactive case studies. It will assist both the novice and those who know something about it to understand what the techniques are used for, the principles behind them, how they might be employed and when to use them.
