Agile project management methods generally promote a disciplined project management process that encourages frequent inspection and adaptation, a leadership philosophy that encourages teamwork, self-organisation and accountability, a set of engineering best practices that allow for rapid delivery of high-quality software and a business approach that aligns development with customer needs and company goals.

The problem, from a contracts & procurement perspective, is that traditional arrangements do not have the flexibility needed for Agile to work or encourage the behaviours needed within Agile teams. The Association for Project Management (APM) Contracts & Procurement Specific Interest Group (SIG) and Dynamic Systems Development Method (DSDM) are looking for something better.

This series of on-line webinars will be of interest both to those who want to know a little bit more about Agile and those familiar with the techniques but wish to procure and contract on an Agile basis. The content of the sessions will be;

Thursday 11th Mar 2010 - Uncover the problems.

Thursday 22th Apr 2010 - Agree on a direction for the solution and explore the remedies for the main problems

Thursday 27th May 2010 - Construction of contract guidance for Agile Projects.

Ultimately, it will provide guidance on procurement practices and legal contracts for Agile projects.
