This event will offer the Project Management community a fantastic opportunity to develop knowledge in Project Methodology and its importance throughout the project life cycle. The purpose of the PRINCEOPOLY business game is to teach project teams how to use project method, specifically PRINCE2®, in practice.

Welcome to a new decade and the first 2010 APM North West Inspire event.

The full-day event will offer the opportunity to develop a new city called PRINCOPOLIS. Using PRINCE2® best practice your will develop your knowledge in Project Method and application in a simulated project environment.

David Lurie, APM North West Inspire Chair will outline the following in a brief opening presentation:

• The Importance of APM Inspire in your Project Management Career.

• The need for networking and exposure to best practice throughout your early development.

• An Introduction to PRINCEOPOLY with Outperform UK Ltd.

PRINCEOPOLY Event

With the guidance of trained PRINCE2® practitioners you will develop different areas of the city. You will have to work under high pressure, as the project will undergo simulated risk and uncertainty to test your project management skills.

Once you have played PRINCEOPOLY you will understand how to use PRINCE2® in actual projects.

The event is traditionally delivered for £4000 and has been offered to the APM at a discounted price. For APM Members (£50) and Non-APM Members (£100) the following is included:

Before the event

• Participants will be registered on the Outperform website where they will have access to: joining instructions, an overview of the day, useful reading and a short survey to enable the game leader to assess skill levels and roles of the participants. Each participant will receive a copy of TSO’s PRINCE2® Pocketbook.

At the event

• The game period is one complete day of 8 hours, including 1 hour lunchtime, and consists of one pair of game boards for developing the city supported with PRINCE2 based reports

• At the end of the event each participant will be asked to identify their key learning points and then to produce a personal action plan.

The Future of Project Management

An APM Inspire Representative will close the evening with a snapshot of future APM North West events that will assist in supporting your Continuous Professional Development (CPD).
