Event organiser: APM Risk SIG
*** This event is now fully booked and booking has closed. If you wish to cancel your please email risksig@apm.org.uk***
PLEASE NOTE THERE HAS BEEN A CHANGE OF VENUE- THE EVENT IS NOW BEING HELD AT ARMADA HOUSE CONFERENCE CENTRE
The next event of the APM Risk SIG will be examining techniques that can be adopted to increase the chance of meeting your objectives. All sessions are planned to be highly interactive and we start the day with a presentation from David Hillson looking at the potential benefits of interfacing risk and earned value management (EVM) methodologies. The APM will shortly be publishing an EVM/Risk Guide and this presentation is the first in a series of planned events prior to its release. We are particularly interested in hearing from anyone who has experience of adopting a harmonised risk and EVM approach and would welcome your view/challenges. Time has been allowed for such debate, so if you would like to either question the principles or give your view please join us.
The next two sessions by Ken Newland and Tony Reid are again planned to be interactive. Ken will be using case studies, working experience and models to demonstrate Business risks implicit in major contracts. This will have particular emphasis on the planning of the project during the bid stage. Tony will run an interactive session to assess the delegates attitude to innovative behaviour and perception of risk. This is based on a view of the future trends in innovative behaviours in the use of ‘creativity and innovation’. Ken and Tony will then bring their two perspectives together for a discussion on how the risks inherent in Innovative behaviours are needed to identify the ‘good’ risks that are required to be taken to achieve a competitive advantage.
