On the 14th March 2012, the People SIG continued to build on the inputs from the first Culture ‘Development Workshop’ held in December 2011, in order to evolve tangible ‘assets’ for the wider PM community to use.

On Friday 9th December the People SIG brought a group of project professionals together to discuss Culture in a development workshop, facilitated by SIG committee member Sheilina Somani, which sought to establish what themes and deliverables might add value to the wider APM community. There is real evidence to suggest that many project failures can be attributed to poor communication. Naturally we all believe we are transmitting perfectly well, the problem must lie with those receiving and their understanding!

After 10 years as Chairman of APM’s People SIG, Donnie MacNicol has decided to step down. Richard Galley and Jane Royden (People SIG’s new Chairman) took an opportunity to ask Donnie to share some of his thoughts and reflections just before he headed off for a date with ‘Kings of Leon’ in Hyde Park.
