An opportunity to meet the London Branch Committee and APM's CEO and to enjoy a summer BBQ. If you are new to APM or have had limited engagement to date, this is your chance to meet the local committee and to find out what goes on in the branch, headquarters, specific interest groups, corporate initiatives, liaison with Higher Education Institutes, Corporates, etc.

APM is driving the campaign for increased professionalism within project management. After working closely with public and private sector stakeholders over the last year, APM has identified that everybody has a different idea of what professionalism in the sector looks like. APM has also discovered that, although these differences of opinion exist, there is a well supported requirement for a single recognised and valued quality professional standard inproject management.

The resulting APM standard of professionalism has been defined as comprising five dimensions, namely: Breadth of knowledge. Depth of competence. Achievement. Demonstration of achievement through professional qualifications. Commitment through continuing professional development. Accountability through adherence to a code of professional conduct.

As APM’s major strategic objective for the next few years, the organisation is committed to increasing the awareness and achievement of the five dimensions of professionalism which together represent the standard right across the many organisations committed to the improvement of project management capability.

This event will be an opportunity to hear about how APM seeks to serve its membership and the profession at large through its current campaign for professionalism, together with the current status on the Chartered initiative, from APM Chief Executive, Andrew Bragg.
