Project People: The Shard [Video]

“It’s all about the detail,” says Robert Deatker, project director at the Shard – the tallest building in Western Europe.

In a short interview with Project editor, James Simons, Robert describes his ‘golden rule’ for managing successful projects and talks through some of his career highlights to date – including Canary Wharf and Al Raha Beach. He also offers advice to new recruits hoping to climb the PM ladder.

The interview is the first in a series of Project People video shorts, focusing on the people tasked with managing some of the UK’s – and the world’s – biggest and most complex projects.
