APM Planning Specific Interest Group

The Planning SIG aim is to be:
The recognised authority in planning across all industries for every stage of the project management process. It seeks to achieve this aim by

• Conducting research and development and developing planning techniques and procedures.
  
• Publishing information.
  
• Influencing the relevant authorities and creating strategic alliances in order to promote planning.
  
• Defining standards, skills and deliverables for planning professionals

The SIG aims to represent the interests of planners and provide the following benefits:

• Offer support and advice
  
• Contribute to the training requirements
  
• Offer the platform to exchange ideas.

Current Situation

The committee has written a guidebook on planning that has been through a consultation process with its SIG members. The book is currently under review by the APM executive and their appointed technical editor.
