A presentation by Ian Hooper on the subject matter below will be followed by a relevant case study and Q&A session.

High profile public projects come under considerable scrutiny from outside commentators, press and media, who seem to prefer reporting failure than celebrating success. However, there have been some notable failures which, quite rightly, have received such reporting. Often, the root of the problem is related to project governance and, as a consequence, the value actually derived from undertaking the project.

In terms of a successful Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games, what is the governance structure with respect to the various projects to be delivered and how is this managed? What in particular has worked well, what has been the major challenge and how have overall stakeholder needs been reconciled to maximise the value of the planned outcome?

Holiday Inn Theatreland is situated close to Glasgow’s two main railway stations. Concert Square Car Park is also directly opposite and Buchanan Galleries Car Park is just around the corner.

Advance booking is required for this event via the APM website as numbers will be limited.
