Joe McNeil
Wessex Branch Treasurer
Joe McNeil is currently a senior project manager within the business transformation group at Virgin Media. Preceding this, he had spent several years with Marconi communications where as chief engineer he was responsible for designing voice processing systems before moving into project management.
He was responsible for the development of Intelligent Network applications for a range of telecom operators for both POTS and VOIP networks. He has also acted as Implementation change manager for an extensive voice and data network programme delivering to the National grid. Prior to this he was the engineering manager at Cray Communication, responsible for the development of communication products, including a network management system deployed within the Channel tunnel.
Joe has until recently been a keen diver and enjoyed wreck diving off the south coast of England, but his most memorable dives were with hammerhead sharks, stingrays and Manta's in the Maldives.
He has a degree in Electronics & Electrical Engineering from Surrey University and most recently a Masters in Project Management from Lancaster University. He has been a member of the APM since the mid 90's, joining the committee of the Wessex branch in 2006.
