Philip Smelt

Chairman

Philip is currently employed by Lincolnshire County Council and works on their business transformation programme.

Beginning his career as a research chemist for the Ministry of Defence at Porton Down, resulting in three publications. Philip then spent several years traveling the globe whilst working in the scientific instrumentation industry.

Moving into project and programme management he now has broad business, public sector and DTI exposure; with extensive experience of working from concept/bid through to application integration and full implementation rollout, including infrastructure migration.

He has been a member of APM since 2005 and is a Prince2, Managing Successful Programmes and Management of Risk Practitioner.

Philip was born in Grimsby, has been married for 22 years and has two children. Although having lived in both Nottingham and Royal Tunbridge Wells for many years, he has returned to live in his home town.

Philip is a keen photographer, Hi-Fi enthusiast and angler and is presently researching his family ancestry pre - 1650AD. In addition Philip is a regular contributor and the resident quiz setter to Insight - the Lincolnshire County Council Staff Magazine and regularly arranges staff social/charity events.
