Why Chartered status matters?

APM opens its Register of Chartered Project Professionals in Spring 2018 and is currently consulting on the proposed standard that project professionals will need to meet to be on the Register and call themselves Chartered Project Professionals (ChPP).

The Royal Charter is an internationally recognised mark of quality providing the profession with a platform to raise awareness of our skills, improve standards and develop our practice for the benefit of all.

We asked a selection of project professionals on our board, members and non-members, what Chartered status means to them to gather a sense of the the expectation project professionals hold around project management becoming a Chartered profession. If you would like to be featured and share your thoughts on being Chartered, please email Catriona.Finlayson@apm.org.uk.

"The word 'Charter' has a certain meaning in society, it highlights someone has having achieved a high standard and can be trusted. I am already a Chartered Engineer, but being a Chartered Project Professional as well shows I am competent as both."
