Accredited training provider - Your application

Our training provider accreditation is essential for those wishing to deliver APM Qualifications.

We work closely with those who achieve so they have the training and guidance required to provide an excellent learner experience.

This ensures that our network of training providers who carry our accreditation reflect our high standards and are trusted by our profession’s organisations and individuals who seek their next development opportunity.

How to gain accreditation

To gain accreditation, providers must reach and maintain a set standard across key factors of their organisation including operations, training delivery and technology.

Where performance exceeds our requirements for a set period, a provider may be eligible to apply for gold standard* in each of their qualifications, signalling to the market a dedication to exceptional learner experience and results.

Accreditation at both standard and gold levels* is available for our:

  • APM Project Fundamentals Qualification
  • APM Project Management Qualification
  • APM Project Professional Qualification
  • APM Risk 1 and 2

Please note: We do not offer any accreditation for our Chartered Standard.

*Gold standard can be achieved after a period of proven delivery against set metrics

FAQs for the new Accredited Training Provider standard

We’re rolling out a new standard that all Accredited Providers must reach. As part of this roll out, much of our guidance and application process is changing.

When will I be required to gain accreditation under the new standard?

Either at your renewal or reaccreditation date- whatever one comes first.

My accreditation is for four years, why do I need to reapply on my renewal?

It's important that the market has a uniform standard to ensure that all learners have a great experience from their Accredited Provider. Much of the information required for your application or reaccreditation will be relevant under the new standard so will stand you in good stead for your application.

What is the price of the new application and how will I be charged?

We are now moving to an annual audit model with more flexibility in the pricing which is reflected in our price list which can be found here.

What are the key changes of the new standard?

The new standard is focusing on the end to end journey for the learner working towards an APM qualification with a keen attention to continual improvement being adopted effectively.

The introduction of digital badges, which will be awarded per qualification, can be immediately validated providing transparency for clients on what this trust mark signifies.

We’re also introducing a gold status for providers who continuously go beyond the metrics required for standard accreditation.

When will the application guidance and forms be made available?

We’ll be launching these in May 2023.

What happens if my organisation does not meet the requirements of the new standard, or I don’t wish to maintain my accreditation?

The new standard is accessible and has been designed to be achievable to those who wish to maintain their accreditation. That said, maintaining Accredited Provider status does take commitment and for some, this may not be the right status for them or their organisation.

In any event we will support the organisation fully with whatever decision they make, be it to either meet the requirements of the standard or in discontinuing their Accredited Provider status, ensuring their learners are not impacted.

Will you be delivering transition webinars to help Accredited Providers meet the standard?

Yes, a full programme of webinars will be published in the coming month.

Can I continue to use my current Accredited Provider badge?

Yes, once you have reaccredited under the new standard, you’ll be required to use the qualification specific digital badges. Once that has been achieved, you must remove your previous badge.
