Inside the Digital Asset – Exploring Immersive Visualisation Technology
Delivering linear infrastructure within both an urban and a rural environment increasingly demands greater collaboration between stakeholders, users, clients and the supply chain.
Adding dimensions (e.g. 3D-4D-5D-6D) does make us more efficient and effective but it also creates new challenges, which requires a new, innovative approach to viewing and communicating construction information.
This presentation explores the research undertaken by CH2M to examine current and future practices of Immersive Visualisation Technology (IVT), and its application and applicability on major projects. The findings recognise research and industry potential for improving current IVT application and increasing its uptake not only in stakeholder engagement but also in the design, delivery and handover stages of a construction project life-cycle.
