Neil Fraser, Engineering Development Manager, Diageo
As Engineering Development Manager for Diageo’s International Supply Centre (ISC) Neil works across forty sites in the UK, Ireland, Italy and Mexico with responsibility for strategic project development, engineering standards and management of capital projects.
Neil is a chartered engineer with thirty years’ experience of running engineering projects, primarily in the alcoholic beverage sector. He has a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and a master’s degree in business administration.
Having started his career in project engineering in the power industry Neil moved to alcoholic beverages in the early 1990s, initially as a project engineer in malt distilling.
In 2000 Neil moved into senior electrical engineering role and was responsible for developing numerous technical standards. In 2008 he took on responsibility for managing capital projects across Diageo’s spirits packaging sites in the UK and Ireland.
Neil moved on from that role in 2016 to provide engineering input into strategic projects across ISC and other parts of Diageo.

Synopsis: In 2015 Diageo acquired 100% ownership of the Don Julio Tequila Business and announced a $400M investment in expanding Tequila operations. Neil’s presentation gives an overview of the team’s journey to overcome some of the challenges that can come from managing projects 9,000km away.
