Besnike Jaka is an experienced project management specialist with a wide range of programme and project management, communication, capacity building, and team management skills, delivered within the security and development sectors.
Ms Jaka’s experience includes establishment and implementation of strategic and operational Programme Management Offices, as well as programme and project management and oversight, delivering according to internationally recognized best practices. She also has extensive expertise in delivering project management training, and advising clients globally within UNOPS and beyond, on programme, project and change management.
Besnike joined the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in 2005 in Kosovo, and subsequently joined the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) in Afghanistan in her capacity as Head of the Programme Management Office (2011 – 2014). Currently, she is a Project Management Advisor within UNOPS Headquarters in Copenhagen. Prior to joining the United Nations, Ms Jaka worked for the Department of International Development (DFID) and the Kosovo Institute for Policy and Research Development.
