BBC News Digital Special Projects Producer

Johny Cassidy is a BBC journalist by trade but also has a passion for projects and project management. He recently completed an APM apprenticeship in Project Management which dovetails perfectly with his day job as a BBC Digital Special Projects producer.

He has a huge passion for diversity and inclusion and strongly believes in the concept of inclusive design in everything we do as a society. It is why he believes more diversity is needed across all sectors. That lived experience is what will ensure all projects are being planned and carried out for the benefit of all.

In October, he will be undertaking a three-month Fellowship with the Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism at Oxford University where he’ll be working on a project to build a framework which will see all BBC visual data journalism made more accessible for blind and partially sighted people.
