Dr Michal Nachmany

London School of Economics

Dr Michal Nachmany is a Policy Fellow at  the Grantham Research Institute at the London School of Economics (LSE), where she leads the work on databases and tools, supporting evidence-based decision-making – from national legislation and policy to low-carbon investment practices.

Since 2013 She has been leading the Grantham Research Institute’s Climate Change Laws of the World project – a comprehensive open access resource documenting all national climate laws and policies globally. Since 2018 she has also been project managing the Transition Pathway Initiative (TPI) – an investor-led initiative to support companies’ transition to a low-carbon economy. Supported by investors with over $18 trillion AUM, TPI tracks climate governance and emissions trajectories by the highest emitting companies worldwide, to facilitate evidence-based investor engagement and investment. She was previously a senior project manager specialising in competitive intelligence solutions for multinational companies.

Michal holds a PhD in Climate Policy from the London School of Economics, an MA in Energy Policy and Management from the University of Haifa, an LLB in Law and an MBA specialising in finance from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. She is a (non-practicing) lawyer and regularly speaks publicly on climate change policy and action with diverse audiences and on international media.
