Emotional intelligence in a digital world First published in 1994, Daniel Goleman’s book ‘Emotional Intelligence’ has been updated, discussed, built on and widely embraced by many areas of popular psychology and management consulting. It has four key elements:
• Self Awareness
• Self Management
• Social Awareness
• Managing relationships
All of these are challenged by the need for remote or hybrid working. This discussion will attempt to explain how some elements can be practically explained through the learnings of neurolinguistic programming and will show where we have to make subtle tweaks to make our digital self as aware, connected and impactful as if we were in the room.
