Assessment details

There are three elements to the APM Project Professional Qualification, and these are based on a pre-seen case study. The elements will address the assessment criteria detailed in the syllabus.

  • Scenario (20 minutes with an additional 10 minutes preparation)
  • Oral examination (50 minutes)
  • Report (60 minutes with an additional 15 minutes reading time)

The scenario and oral examination will be conducted by two assessors using a virtual meeting application.

The report element will be held under examination conditions using APM’s Qualification Platform, Surpass and remotely invigilated using ProctorExam. Before you begin the report, under examination conditions, you will need to complete an environment and ID check. This can take approximately 15 minutes.

For both applications you will need to have a working webcam and microphone.

The case study will be sent to a month before the date that you are due to undertake the assessment.

Final joining instructions for the scenario and oral exam, including the names of your assessors and the meeting login specifics, will be sent to you two weeks before the assessment date.

For the report element of the assessment you will receive an email link to do a system check. This will be sent to you from e-assessment@apm.org.uk. You will need to carry these checks out before you can undertake the report. Details of exact requirements and setup can be found in the step-by-step user guide.
