Themes

In this hat trick-year for APM Benefits Management Summit, #apmbmsummit, the APM Benefits Management Specific Interest Group has organised a programme around four related themes:

Achieving transformational change

We will explore the interlocking capabilities of benefits and change management, that equip business leaders and managers with the tools, techniques, knowledge and experience to successfully transform organisations

Developing better business cases

Benefits Management SIG carries a torch for business cases, and investment appraisal, as per APM BoK and Competence Framework. We continue to cultivate relationships and share knowledge between a growing certified practitioner community in both better business cases and managing benefits.

Benefits-led portfolio management

We recognise that benefits management is best developed as an organisational capability at portfolio level. To achieve this, we are working closely with APM Portfolio Management SIG to jointly plan and contribute to our respective conferences and co-author a guide to Portfolio Benefits Frameworks.

Working with Partners

We recognise the importance of creating effective partner relationships; for example, throughout service profit and service value chains. Ultimately, change initiatives make improvements that are intended to benefit different stakeholder groups, such as; citizens, customers and shareholders.

David Hawkins, of the Institute of Collaborative Working [ICW], delivered a popular Benefits of Collaboration webinar in March 2016. At this year’s summit, he will explain how the new International Standard for Collaboration [ISO44001] supports collaborative relationships within business.

Who should attend?

The Summit will provide delegates with many unique and proven insights and perspectives to successfully plan and realise benefits including:

  • Senior Executives and leaders: ensuring that multiple initiatives contribute to strategy
  • Budget-holders and decision-makers: providing real data to make sound investment decisions
  • Senior Responsible Owners: improving benefits identification and engagement with all stakeholders
  • Change managers: Enabling organisations to ensure that their changes are wholly beneficial
  • Programme and project managers: Responding to Agile ways of project initiation and delivery
  • Benefits practitioners, managers and team members: Enabling enterprise working using common benefits frameworks

Benefits of attending

Delegates will get the opportunity to participate in a variety of interactive and thought-provoking workshops and to learn from a range of eclectic case studies delivered by outstanding and respected benefits practitioners and leaders.

The 2017 Summit will also feature, as it did last year, an area for suppliers who cater for the needs of those considering, or utilising benefits management in their organisations, to show you how they can help to develop and mature your overall benefits management capability. Representation will be provided by benefits tool vendors, training providers and consulting services (see list of exhibitors below)

As always, we guarantee delegates great learning, motivation and networking opportunities. #apmbmsummit is great value for money and number one for thought leadership, sharing and learning from experience in the global benefits management arena #eventroi.
