Dundee V&A and Waterfront regeneration project delivery
This event will cover the history of the delivery of the V&A Dundee, from competition design to opening to the public and beyond.
This includes design, procurement, construction, fit out, risk management, cost management, change management, reporting to and managing multiple stakeholders.
The current status of the Dundee Central Waterfont and project management role within Dundee City Council, be addressed. The presentation will also focus on the team building, problem solving, and humanising approach that led to the V&A Dundee being delivered on time and under budget
This talk will be followed by a Q&A session.
John Tavendale is a project manager for the V&A Dundee and the Dundee Central Waterfront. He worked on the V&A Dundee from 2011 to the opening in September 2018, and commenced onto the Dundee Central Waterfront in October 2018.
John was a director with Turner and Townsend from 2007 to 2018, specialising in the University Scientific Research Building. He also worked as an Estates project manager at the University of Dundee from 2003 to 2007, working on major projects redeveloping the city centre campus. John was a Partner at James F Stephen Architects from 1985 to 2003.
