Governance in a world of Artificial Intelligence

An APM Governance SIG virtual meet up

This session is on AI and its impact on governance.

Are you a project management professional with a focus on governance and looking to engage with similar professionals?

APM Governance SIG committee members Andy and Roger will be leading this  meet up, giving members the chance to interact with each other and swap experiences. This conversation will provide an opportunity to socialise virtually and is a great way to network with governance professionals.

There is a limit on the number places available due to the format of the event (virtual) and ideally open to those with a governance focus.

This conversation evening is suitable for professionals with any level of experience.

Hosts
Andy Murray is a chartered director with over 30 years of varied experience (public sector/private sector, SME/corporate, domestic/international) of delivering strategic change through project, programme and portfolio management. He has a focus on project governance, the treatment of inherent project complexity and organisational development of project capability.

Andy is currently the executive director of the Major Projects Association (MPA) and a freelance consultant and non-exec (proprietor of The Project Non-Exec Ltd).

From 2015-2020 Andy was a senior partner at RSM, a £350m accountancy and business advisory firm, and a member of the leadership team for the Consulting Faculty. He was responsible for RSM’s projects and programmes service line and also leads the infrastructure sector group. Additionally, Andy was responsible for several of the firm’s largest clients (e.g. Sellafield).

Prior to joining RSM, Andy founded and grew his own consulting company, Outperform, which specialised in organisational development of project/programme capability. Outperform grew year on year for 11 years prior to being successfully sold to and integrated within RSM in 2015.

Outside of the “day job” Andy has a passion for the development of the project management profession having held voluntary roles for the Best Practice User Group, the Public Sector knowledge hub and the APM in addition to developing/contributing to best practice guidance for HM Treasury, Cabinet Office, the APM and Axelos, e.g. lead author for PRINCE2, co-lead author for P3M3, chair of advisory board for IPA Routemap. Andy is currently the APM’s Governance Specific Interest Group chair.
