Governance of Wicked Decisions - Climate Change versus Biodiversity

An APM Governance SIG virtual meet up

How do we achieve balance in the provision of appropriate governance on very emotive aspects of global challenges with their local divisive manifestations?

In this meet up, the APM Governance SIG would like you to listen to our panelists’ views and perspectives on trade-off between sustainability projects that promote climate change agenda and other sustainability projects that preserve nature and biodiversity.
Both may have wider socio-economic, environmental, and political consequences, but who gets the green light of the local planning decision and how should the projects be governed?

Are you a project management professional with a focus on governance and looking to engage with similar professionals?

APM Governance SIG committee members Nick and Andy will be leading this meet up, giving Participants members the chance to interact with each other and swap experiences. This conversation will provide an opportunity to socialise virtually and is a great way to network with governance professionals.

There is a limit on the number places available due to the format of the event (virtual) and ideally open to those with a governance focus.

This conversation evening is suitable for professionals with any level of experience.

Nick Gray has worked on complex infrastructure programmes in the UK, sponsoring and delivering enhancements at all stages of the lifecycle under a range of governance and management frameworks.  His roots go back to London Underground and then Docklands Light Railway project managing a diverse range of schemes from light rail extensions to business recovery following the Docklands bombing.  A move to Network Rail led to senior roles on national rail enhancement programmes.  Highlights include sponsoring the iconic redevelopment of Kings Cross station and sponsoring the £5bn Thameslink Infrastructure Programme guiding 100 component projects including rebuilding London Bridge station.  Nick is now programme director covering assurance, risk and knowledge management in Network Rail’s Rail Investment Centre of Excellence.

Andy Murray - biography to follow shortly.
