NEC4 - what's changed and, when will we need NEC5?
The Northern Ireland branch of APM has joined forces with the Institution of Civil Engineers in Riddel Hall, Belfast for an entertaining evening event.
The latest suite of NEC contracts, NEC4, was published in June to great fanfare. Is the blaze of publicity warranted, or is this latest issue just a refresh of NEC3?
It’s clear that much indeed has changed. Four new contracts have been added to the suite and many changes have been made to the existing forms. This event will provide a description of what’s changed, and why. Patrick Waterhouse was part of the NEC team that produced NEC4.
Patrick is an adjudicator and consultant specialising in NEC4, NEC3 and PFI contracts. He advises clients on disputes and contract issues in construction and engineering. He is a Chartered Civil Engineer, an accredited mediator and an adjudicator for disputes under construction contracts. Patrick is on the panels of adjudicators of The Institution of Civil Engineers, The Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, The Technology & Construction Solicitors' Association and the Construction Industry Council. He is also on the ICE's Register of Mediators/Conciliators. He delivers a range of training courses in the areas of NEC4 & NEC3 contracts, PFI contracts, contract law and commercial practice. He is a tutor for the NEC4 and NEC3 Project Manager Accreditation Programmes.
This event is suitable for professionals with an intermediate level of experience.
Future events and branch information can be found on the branch community page.
