Design your PMO based on the experience of a worldwide community of PMO professionals
Professionals who lead or implement PMOs are well aware of the ongoing challenge of making the value of the PMO recognised by their stakeholders. And if this is no easy task, it becomes even more complicated when we realise that many of the available references on the subject are incomplete, overly theoretical, or outdated.
Following the very successful APM PMO Specific Interest Group (SIG) " PMO and Value" conference held in October 2016, we are happy to announce that we are giving you an opportunity to spend time with one of the founders of the innovative PMO Value Ring methodology.
This intimate workshop with Americo Pinto will ensure that delegates will learn, in practice, how to use the methodology, a step-by-step way to create, restructure and manage PMOs with a focus on value and results.
Developed from recent international research involving dozens of PMO leaders with extensive experience, the PMO Value Ring methodology is now used by more than 4,000 professionals in 65 countries around the world.
After completing this workshop, you will be able to introduce the methodology in your company or client, convince your sponsors of its importance, apply best practices, use the tools available for implementation, and analyse the results obtained.
During this workshop you will:
- Find out what the most appropriate functions for your PMO, based on the needs of your stakeholders.
- Balance the set of functions of your PMO to generate value perception in your stakeholders.
- Design your PMO processes using best practices and recommendations.
- Select accurate and detailed performance indicators, track the quality of services, and demonstrate how your PMO is generating value.
- Identify the necessary competencies for your PMO, evaluate your team, and use recommendations to define the best allocation and develop development plans.
- Assess the maturity of your PMO and receive recommendations to plan your evolution.
- Find out what the financial return of your PMO is, considering the reality of your company.
- Create a dashboard for your PMO and monitor value generation with performance indicators.
Americo Pinto has over 20 years of experience as a practitioner and consultant focused on PMOs, Portfolio and Project Management in Latin America, USA and Europe. He was the “PMI Distinguished Contribution Award” recipient in 2011.
Americo is the Chairman of the Board of Directors at PMO Global Alliance, Research Director at PMO TOOLS Technologies, and Executive Director at Noorden Group.
For more than 12 years he has been a professor at Latin America’s most prestigious universities, teaching to MBA students. He is a PhD Candidate at ESC Rennes School of Business in France, researching on the topic “PMO Value”. He has published four books about project management and PMOs, and he regularly speaks at the most important project management conferences in Europe, Americas and Asia.
