Praxis - Do we really need another PPM framework?

Atkins, The Hub, 500 Park Avenue, Aztec West, Bristol, BS32 4RZ

One thing this world is not short of is frameworks and guidelines. Just considering the area in which we work, we have PRINCE2®, MSP, Agile, SCRUM, APM and PMI BoKs, several Architectural Frameworks, we have… well, the list goes on and on. In this forest of publications, it’s hard to know which to chose.

An organisation looking to develop and maintain an effective project delivery infrastructure would need to reference several of these guides. This would soon encounter different structures, different terminology and different principles, that would need to be mapped against each other, to produce a complete set of integrated guidance. But mapping is a time consuming and imprecise exercise, and will inevitably highlight gaps, overlaps and inconsistencies between your chosen guides.

The Praxis framework is not a new PPM framework. Praxis reflects the best of the various guides, and distils it into a single integrated framework, freely available and accessible to everyone.

During this event, Emma will delve into the key insights and values of Praxis, which make it a great foundation for a companywide PPM framework. As well as looking at how Praxis integrates PPM knowledge, method, competence and capability maturity into a single, community driven framework, it will also look at the wealth of resources available through the Praxis framework library.

Emma Jones established one of the early accredited training organisation’s 20 years ago, specialising in PRINCE2®, and has a wealth of experience in developing and deploying project management best practice, in both the public and private sector.

Emma has worked with APMG International, developing courses and qualifications for 16 years, including PRINCE2®, MSP® and the Praxis framework. Emma was APMG’s chief examiner for PRINCE2® for five years, and is now the chief examiner of the Praxis framework.
