Project Controls qualification and branch AGM

Teacher Building, 14 St Enoch Square, Glasgow, G1 4DB

This evening event will introduce the new project controls qualifications and the APM's Planning, Scheduling, Monitoring and Control Guide that supports them.

Following the AGM, Milla will give an introduction to APM’s Planning, Scheduling, Monitoring and Control guide, and the APMG qualifications developed in line with that guide.  In July 2015, the APM launched its publication “Planning Scheduling Monitoring and Control: The Practical Project Management of Time, Cost and Risk”.  Aimed specifically as a hands-on guide to project controls, it has found an eager audience and has been widely praised. The guide is the result of 2 years work by the APM’s Planning Monitoring and Control SIG and was followed by APMG’s introduction of two project controls qualifications. These aim to raise understanding of the project controls discipline. This event will give an introductory overview of both the APM guide and the APMG qualifications, explaining how they can be accessed and used and also give more details on the course syllabus and exam style.

Milla started her railway career on the Channel Tunnel Rail Link and has since continued to work in the field of railway programme controls, specialising in planning, scheduling and integration.

Notably, between 2009 and 2012, Milla was the programme controls planning and scheduling lead on Network Rail's National Electrification Programme, where she developed the integrated planning strategy for the National Grid Supply Point Programme and the National Electrification portfolio, prior to the handover to regional design and delivery teams.

Since 2012, Milla has led the programme controls planning and scheduling team for Network Rail's National Operating Strategy and subsequent Digital Railway Programme, where she is focused on enhancing the department's ability to develop innovative, integrated planning strategies.
