Rose-Tinted Assurance – Looking at Optimism Bias in Assurance
Assurance Professionals - We miss you! We miss the tea breaks at conferences, the catching new people in corridors, and the water-cooler catch ups where we’d hear all the industry gossip.
Given the past year, we’ve struggled to reach out as much as we had previously to peers outside our usual circles. The APM Assurance SIG is continuing its series of informal networking events to fill the gap, so to speak!
APM Assurance SIG volunteer Laura Hartley will be leading this informal meet up, introducing herself and the subject, and get a discussion going, then round off the hour with thanks and feedback. This time will give members the chance to interact with each other and swap experiences. This conversation will provide an opportunity to socialise virtually and is a great way to network with governance professionals.
Laura Hartley is currently delivery enterprise assurance manager for Capital Delivery at Thames Water. I’ve worked through utilities, defence, construction, and pharmaceutical manufacturing, mostly as a project manager. I think soft skills are vastly overlooked within the profession as a whole, but can make even the most stubborn issue easier to navigate.
Are you a project management professional with a focus on assurance and looking to engage with similar professionals?
There is a limit on the number of places available due to the format of the event (virtual) and ideally open to those with an assurance focus. This virtual meet up will be held on Microsoft Teams.
This conversation evening is suitable for professionals with any level of experience.
