Unlocking Your Potential as a Project Manager in the Life Science and Pharma Sector

Working as a Project Manager in the Life Science and Pharma sector can be challenging!

It requires skills in managing multiple stakeholders within the team, the parent organisation, partners and collaborators, subcontractors and client organisations.  The nature of the work, being scientific, is inherently uncertain: the scope, the approach and the timelines of the project can be impacted at any time. Completing a project to the required time, quality and budget could not only impact the credibility of the parent organisation but also its competitiveness and viability, and the health and safety of patients.

Project Managers are likely to be more successful if they can instil trust and commitment amongst their team members and enable them to deliver their best in the midst of uncertainty, change and demanding timelines. Ways to make this possible could include bringing your best (authentic) self to work, having effective influencing and negotiation skills and developing sustainable and robust strategies for getting things done.

This webinar coincides with International Coaching week and will take a coaching-style approach through interactive polls and online chat.

Joined by guest speaker Elisabeth Goodman, who will help unlock delegates’ potential through a coaching-style approach to address such challenges in their own work. By introducing techniques that Elisabeth uses in her work with managers and team members. These techniques will enable delegates to start exploring their own challenges in the context of those experienced by Project Managers in the Life Sciences and Pharma.

Elisabeth is a coach, facilitator and trainer at RiverRhee Consulting, which she founded in 2009.  Her mission is to “create exceptional managers and teams” with a focus on the Life Sciences, and especially SMEs in the Cambridgeshire area where she lives.

Prior to RiverRhee, Elisabeth had 25+ years’ experience in the Pharmaceutical Industry in line management and internal training and consultancy roles supporting teams on a global basis.

She particularly enjoys helping individuals to exercise choice and realise their potential in the workplace. Recurring themes are leadership, management, interpersonal and communication skills, how to deal with change and be more productive.

Elisabeth is accredited in Coaching (ACC ICF, PG Certificate in Business and Personal Coaching), Change Management, Lean Sigma, Belbin Team Roles, MBTI (Myers Briggs Type Indicator - Steps 1 and 2) and she is an NLP (NeuroLinguistic Programming) Practitioner. She is also a member of the APM in which she was a founding member of the Enabling Change SIG.
