APM Research Fund: open for business

The latest round of funding from APM’s Research Fund aimed at supporting research that is of practical benefit to the project management profession has gone live. Applicants have until the middle of January 2017 to submit potential proposals for funding.
The APM Research Fund was established to fund small-scale research projects or provide seed funding for larger projects seeking to address key issues that are either directly involved in, or related to, the management of projects, programmes and portfolios.
Simon Addyman, Chair of APM’s Research Advisory Group (RAG), which provides advice and guidance to APM’s research programme, said:
"As the management of projects plays an ever more important role in the creation of value to the UK economy, across so many industries, our understanding of how practice informs theory, and theory informs practice, becomes an ever more important role for APM and the project profession.
“Now in its second year, the APM Research Fund is a fantastic opportunity for the APM, its members and the wider project management community of both academics and practitioners, to engage in bridging the gap between theory and practice.
“One such example of this is the forthcoming sponsored study by APM’s Corporate Members Leadership Group (CMLG) around frameworks for non-technical skills and competences.”
Successful recipients will be typically awarded up to £5,000 towards their research project.
Applications are open to individuals (academics, students, volunteers and practitioners) and organisations including APM Specific Interest Groups and Branches.
The closing date for submissions is 16 January 2017.
