Back to Basics Scheduling Webinar
On 2nd October 2015 the Planning, Monitoring and Control (PMC) SIG held a very successful webinar ‘Back to Basics Scheduling’ attended by over 300 delegates, some from locations such as Trinidad and Tobago, Russia and Hong Kong. Stephen Jones, Chair of the PMC SIG delivered a clear and concise view on Scheduling supported by Simon Taylor and Paul Kidston who were able to answer questions during the Webinar and at the conclusion. So what is scheduling?
Scheduling is a key component of the planning process, bringing project information and assumptions together to generate a path to success.
Scheduling can answer the following questions:
- How long will it take to complete our project?
- What resources will we need?
- What are our most important tasks?
- What's the most effective way to adapt to project change?
Whilst modern scheduling software (Primavera, MS Project, Asta etc) makes scheduling and iterating easier it is important to have an awareness and understanding of the principles in order to truly by effective.
A copy of the questions and responses can be found in the attached document and the Webinar can be viewed below together with a copy of the presentation.
