Building Information Modelling (BIM) changes both the role of the project manager and the project environment. The workshop on 27th March at the University of Salford outlined the role of the PM in BIM and looked to establish the information management, knowledge, and collaborative working practices necessary to support effective BIM delivery.

We examined the way in which BIM changes the way in which information is managed and co-ordinated; the place of knowledge in the BIM process; and how the project manager’s role is instrumental in establishing the project framework to enable both information co-ordination, and project team collaboration which are both essential to a successful BIM project delivery.
