The first event kicked off the Aberdeen Chapter's busy 2014/15 season with a very inspirational presentation from John Pepper of Afri-Link. This is a UK charity set up in 2008 to help people of the third world help themselves to become more self-sufficient within their respective environment in the North West Highlands of Cameroon.

John spoke at length about his inspiration for getting involved for project managing the whole project lifecycle of the Biogas Plant and even some bolt on projects to further display the tremendous achievements made for the people of Cameroon.

Challenges discussed were on the concept of raising money to fund the project, the project governance challenges, getting a project cost estimate produced and establishing a project schedule to be managed throughout the project duration.

John received some thought provoking questions from the audience about his experience and this ensured he had a new volunteer team for the next project.

John's slides can be viewed below or on the APM Resources page of the website.
