Camila Batmanghelidjh - "drive for quality and truth" [Video]

Multi award-winning British businesswoman Camila Batmanghelidjh CBE believes that the key to success is to “drive for quality and truth”. If project managers simply aim for success on its own, then it won’t happen.
Camila, who set up two children’s charities for some of the most traumatised young people living in London, opened this month’s APM Project Management Conference in London sponsored by 20|20 Business Insight.
Camila believes that there are no shortcuts to achieving success in project management; it all comes down to one secret ingredient – integrity. She said: “Sometimes you won’t be successful, but integrity is a better driver of projects than the drive for success.
“If you have integrity and abide by it, the outcome is success.”
Trained as a psychotherapist, Camila took delegates on an inspirational and emotional journey through the challenges she faced in improving care for disturbed and vulnerable children.
Camila concludes by saying: “What I would like project managers to be able to do is to face truth, stare it in the eye and then operate by it.”
