Posted by APM on 8th Oct 2010
On Thursday 7th October the APM Contracts & Procurement SIG and Thames Valley Branch collaborated on an event entitled Commercial awareness for project managers.
Over 60 people attended and heard 3 speakers deliver an interesting programme of presentations.
Jon Broome opened the event with his presentation entitled Effective risk allocation in contracts. He helped the delegates present understand the difference between project and individual risk, what are the principles of risk sharing and allocation and looked at different contract strategies for allocating risk.
John Lake then followed with his presentation entitled Effective supplier management. He explained the definition of supplier relationship management and went on to suggest some common risks with supplier management.
Gerald Orman finished the session with his presentation on The project manager and the contract.
