The first of four events took place last Thursday to help potential employers get a full understanding of the recently launched Higher Apprenticeship in Project Management and discover how it can benefit their business.
The event proved popular with nearly 80 company representatives booking themselves on to event at the Holiday Inn at Regent's Park, London. Along with finding out about the benefits of employing an Apprentice delegates discovered more about the Apprenticeship framework, the available funding and the programmes delivery options.
Along with presentations from both APM and Skills CFA, who have jointly created the Apprenticeship, the head of corporate programmes at British Airways told the eager audience why the UKs largest international scheduled airline was the first employer to commit to the scheme by taking on five Apprentices.
John Bevan believes the Higher Apprenticeship in Project Management is of long-term value to an organisation as it will help to develop their future leaders. John is urging other employers to create places for the Higher Apprenticeship in Project Management by outlining the key benefits: You get high levels of motivation, loyalty and a can-do attitude which, when coupled with excellent training, can make a real difference to your business.
Gill Hancock, product development manager at APM, was pleased with the level of interest at the first of the series of events. She said: It was really encouraging to see how keen corporate organisations are in taking on Apprentices. It is testament to the all the hard work that has gone in to developing a new route into the profession for the next generation of project managers. I look forward to meeting more like-minded companies at the upcoming events.
