APM are delighted to announce that Finmeccanica have recently gained APM Corporate Accreditation for their project manager professional development programme . This is a great achievement as it allows Finmeccanica to demonstrate to their customers, suppliers and employees that they are committed to the highest standards of project management professional development.

Accredited companies are able to attract and retain the best project management talent in the country. The assessment of an organisations professional development scheme gives stakeholders confidence of its dedication to developing project professionals.

Finmeccanica are a leading manufacturer in the high technology sector and ranks among the top ten global players in aerospace, defence and security. As well as being one of the worlds leading suppliers of helicopters, aircraft, aeronautics and defence systems, Finmeccanica is also a European leader in space systems, security and resilience, transportation and power generation solutions. Finmeccanica employs over 70,000 members of staff and in 2011 generated revenue of approximately 17.3 billion.

When asked what gaining Corporate Accreditation meant to them Amedeo Caporaletti CBE (pictured right), President of Alenia Aermacchi and Chairman of Finmeccanica project management programme (PMP) Steering Committee, said: We are honoured to have achieved this accreditation, as it represents an official recognition of the constant efforts we make to develop Programme and Project Management competences, according to the highest standards.

We know that todays competitive market and customers growing expectations require a continuous improvement of PM skills and capabilities. Thanks to the APM accreditation we will be able to better sustain the growth of our PM Community, accessing a qualified network of professionals and sharing the latest thinking and best practices.

In conclusion, we are delighted to be the first Italian Group to join the distinguished list of organisations which have already gained the APM corporate accreditation status.
