John Arkell, from the voluntary sector as director of community initiatives at Agape presented to the East of England branch in June 2004 on ''flat-pack project management''. The event was held at RAF Wyton and was a joint event with the Midlands region. John described the Jesus Video Project which he and his team had ''flat packed'' for implementation across the UK by volunteers, few of whom had any idea about project management. He described the resistance that had to be managed and the scoping, team management, monitoring, and QA challenges which had to be faced.

Different lessons were taken away by attendees; primarily it reinforced the knowledge that face-to-face contact is far superior to any other form of communication and in some cases is the only efficacious means.
