On Tuesday the 19th of May 2009, the APM Hong Kong Branch held an event entitled "From city of dreams to winter wonderland or The Melco dyssey" that was presented by Mr Alfred Yeung.

Alfred spoke about his experiences working over two winters of severe weather conditions, while leading a project team to complete three 5-star hotels in 15 months in time to successfully host the World Universities Winter Games in their flagship resort near Harbin in February 2009. The resort was recently voted as one of Asias Top 15 Best Made-over Resorts by Time Magazine.

Melco may be better known in Macau for its gaming partnership with Crown from Australia, in their City of Dreams and Crown Macau gaming developments. It isn't commonly known thatthe Melco Group has diversified into various leisure and entertainment ventures across Asia. In May 2008, its subsidiary, Melco China Resorts was listed in Toronto Stock Exchange with the launch of a number of mountain resort developments in China.
