Manuel Carvalho da Silva Neto joins PM World

PM World has announced that Manuel Carvalho da Silva Neto (pictured right) has been appointed International Correspondent of their Brazil organisation. Manuel is an active project management advisor, educator and experienced executive based in Minas Gerais state, Brazil.
Manuel, MsC, Mech Engineer and PMP, is a visiting professor at Fundao Dom Cabral business school and a program and project management consultant. He is a seasoned professional with over 38 years of experience in project management, process management and organizational strategy and has managed or participated in more than a hundred projects across different fields including, steel, mining, IT, telecommunications, food processing, government and construction.
Manuel has also worked on PMO (Project Management Office) projects and project management methodology as well as serving as Minas Gerais State Undersecretary for Planning and Budget during 2007/2008 giving him strong leadership and financial skills.
PM World President and Managing Editor David Pells said, We are honored to have Manuel join our correspondent team in Brazil. He is an extremely experienced and well-connected project management expert, with experience as a government executive responsible for planning, budgets and oversight of many programs and projects. I am happy to welcome him to our team.
Manuel stated, This is an exciting time to be here, with Brazil hosting the next World Cup and Summer Olympic Games. There are many projects underway in many cities to prepare for these sporting events. Even this week, the new Pope is here on his first overseas trip. We need more project management everywhere. I look forward to contributing to the PM World Journal, reporting news and stories about projects and project management in Brazil.
