Posted by APM on 2nd Jun 2014

PM World has announced a robust new searching capability for members of the PM World Library (PMWL) to help locate articles and papers on specific programme and project management (P/PM) topics. Library readers can search contents of the PM World Collection via 184 topic tags in 21 categories to find project management works of interest.

The topic-specific tags have been grouped together into categories including programme, project or portfolio management, personal development and team development.

Readers can search the PM World Collection according to one or more tags and find the works in the PMWL on those topics. The PM World Collection includes all works published in the monthly PM World Journal (PMWJ), currently totalling approximately 750 articles, case studies, papers and other works by more than 400 different authors. The PM World Collection is growing by approximately 35-40 new works on P/PM topics each month.

According to PMWL director David Pells: For our tagging and searching model, we tried to identify important aspects of project management that we think most readers will be interested in. For example, weve provided tags based on programme and project characteristics, management responsibility and professional interest.

Pells adds: there are a lot of tags in the personal and organisation development categories. We have papers related to career development, certifications, leadership and other topics of interest to practicing project managers and professionals. The library also contains a growing body of works related to organisational development and performance, including the hot topics of P/PM governance and maturity.

To see the new multi-dimensional tagging model and to search the PM World Collection, visit the PM World website. Readers also have the option of searching the collection on any key words of interest.

Also keep up to date via PM Worlds new Facebook page for the PM World Library (PMWL). The new Facebook page will provide an opportunity to keep library members and friends updated on news, changes and new information posted in the library on a regular basis.

The PM World Library (PMWL) is a global resource for continuous learning in portfolio, program and project management (P/PM). The PMWL is produced and maintained by PM World that also publishes the monthly PM World Journal (PMWJ), a web-based monthly publication featuring dozens of articles, papers and news stories about projects and project management around the world. See the latest edition of the PMWJ and learn more on the PM World Journal website. Follow the PMWL on Facebook, LinkedIn or @pmworldlibrary.
